ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KSNI) – A St. Cloud woman has been accused of trying to hide methamphetamine in the back of a police squad car.
Court records show Kimberly Colt Cunningham, 24, was a passenger in a car pulled over on Sunday, at the intersection of 4th Street South and 6th Avenue South in St. Cloud for driving with a headlight out.
The driver was arrested for a warrant and Cunningham placed in the back of a squad car while the car was searched.
Police say they found marijuana in the car and Cunningham was issued a citation, and then released.
One hour and 20 minutes later police were on a different traffic stop and located a black leather pouch shoved under the squad car’s cage in the back seat.
Records indicate that over one ounce of methamphetamine was inside the pouch.
Investigators say they looked at video from inside the squad car and could see Cunningham take something, place it on the floor, and shove it under the cage where it was found.
Cunningham was charged in Stearns County District Court with one count of possession of a controlled substance in the 1st degree and one count of selling a controlled substance in the 1st degree.
Bail set at $200,000 and her next court date is July 8th.
