SIOUX CITY | Four people were arrested after police found they had smoked meth around three children at home, one as young as nine years old, according to court documents.
Latoya Medina, 31, of Sioux City, faces three charges of child endangerment and keeping a disorderly house after police found her and three men at 1603 Dale St. Wednesday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene by neighbors, who told them several people who do not live at the home had entered the residence.
When Sioux City police arrived, the suspects ran inside the house and refused to come out.
Medina eventually came outside with Curtis Medina, Antonio Rockwood and Rollin Fatland, who were all arrested.
Latoya Medina was appeared to be under the influence of meth, with a dry mouth along with body and eye tremors, documents state.
The woman let the house be searched by police, who found bags with meth residue, a meth pipe and more plastic bags in the toilet.
In a post-Miranda interview, Medina said she and her other family members were smoking meth with children present, ages 13, 12 and 9.
The suspects were booked into the Woodbury County Jail. Latoya Medina is being held on $2,300 bond.
Curtis Medina was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and frequenting a disorderly house. He is being held on $600 bond.
Rockwood was charged with frequenting a disorderly house. He is being held on a $300 bond.
Flatland was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and frequenting a disorderly house. He is being held on a warrant out of South Dakota.
